Overall: -6 Passagesmalibu com customers & affiliates reviews, comments, possible complaints I can't speak for anyone else, but my experience at Passages Malibu was profoundly amazing. I have been dealing with certain family issues most of my life, which caused me to become dependent on alcohol and prescriptions. I found Pax and Chris Prentiss to be a wealth of knowledge and very caring people. Not only was the therapy top-notched, but their medical doctor, Dr. Randall found that I was also suffering from a slight chemical imbalance that she rectified. Everyone at Passages Malibu, from their leading therapists to their medical doctors I found to be the finest in the world and I've been to some of the best over the years.
I find it interesting that if someone who went to Passages relapses, they take it out on Passages. Part of the problem is some still act like a victim instead of taking control of their own lives.

Passagesmalibu com customers & affiliates reviews, comments, possible complaints WOW.....Listen,everyone is entitled to their opinion. I get that. Just like treatment options are out there...OPTions being the operative word. Maybe AA is the answer for ppl, maybe Passages is.......I really don't think Mitch should be so hard on them. I am assuming Mitch just wasnt ready when he went there. The desire to get well Has to play a significant part in recovery. I am a ecovering alcoholic and in my final yr of psychology. Chris and Pax's book helped me-----I didnt even go to the treatment center. I was ready to change and the book helped! So before judging or trashing someone or something,really---try it for yourself. That is all I ask.

Passagesmalibu com customers & affiliates reviews, comments, possible complaints My comment is for the ignorant man named Stephen, who wrote on Nov. 14 2009 2:29am. Admitting you are powerless is not weakness, you are admitting you are powerless over drugs/alcohol. Because a true addict is powerless over either of these drugs. You're not saying you are weak, nor does it mean you are weak. The 1st step is admitting it. I am a firm believer of the 12 steps other wise I would not be here right now. And AA people are not intellectually inferior, unless you are calling my NA and AA Lawyer, dr., friends stupid. You are intellectually inferior!! Very ignorant, if you don't know what you're talking about don't come on a website and make an ignorant comment. People who get clean with out the help of na/aa are dry drunks, aa is what makes you sober. And no we don't trade one addiction for another, and another thing the 12steps have nothing to do with religion. We chose a higher power of our own, and not everyones have to do with religion. You are an idiot, stop speaking your mind about something you know nothing about.

Passagesmalibu com customers & affiliates reviews, comments, possible complaints I have been sober since Nov 5 1981, over 29 years. At the time of the beginning of my current sobriety I was completely broke and without hope. AA was the last house on the street for me. The treatment centers back in 1980 required $$$ as they do today. I jumped into AA with both feet and held on like a man holding onto a floating log in a crazy sea of alcohol induced insanity. I was a young man at the time (24) and my life although in a shambles was still recoverable and after the fog lifted from my alcohol addled brain I was able to start my own business and I picked up a sport for exercise. I got better at the sport and worked very hard at it and years later I won a world championship in that sport along with many state and national medals. My sports career after my drinking was an outrageous success considering how hopeless I was yet my greatest success was being a good son to my father and being a father my children can be proud of.. I got sober before my children were born and they have never seen me take a drink or act like a drunk. critics of AA of which believe it or not I have been myself at times.. Say AA if a cult, or it is full of mindless fanatics, Easily led.. Many sick people come to AA and sometimes they can color the rooms of AA for a little while their sickness is being absorbed by the caring they will find there.. yet millions have found sobriety in AA myself included.. AA is not a 50k scam. Its free. Give it the best try you have. Its a lifesaver.

Passagesmalibu com customers & affiliates reviews, comments, possible complaints MalibuPassages.com expresses how they are the “cure” for addiction. As I became enraged I wrote them this to their email.
After so many years caught in the grip of addiction (10) and then getting the help I needed (11 clean) I have come to understand and also told my clients in the past when I was a counselor that there is no cure, as I also was taught in Rehab and Detox and now you are coming on TV giving false hope that there is. Addiction can be arrested and dormant, maybe forever, maybe for a day but there is no cure. "This is not a 12 step...This works" are your exact words on TV. Who are you to suggest that 12 step doesn’t? I am so astonished that there would be someone as yourself saying these things and giving people false hope and saying your way is the only way. Relapse is normal and a process to recovery not a cure. I am an addict still. Just not a using addict but can I say what tomorrow or a minute from now will bring...NO
I am grateful for my 11 years and this min.

Passagesmalibu com customers & affiliates reviews, comments, possible complaints An Addict, Alcoholic, if you are one or both you will always be. Now if your active, or Non-active, that is your choice. Their quick fix it program sounds like a bunch of blah blah blah to me.
