Passagesmalibu.com customers & affiliates reviews, comments, possible complaints I stayed and was treated at Passages Malibu for a length of time 2 years ago. I went 6 months sober than went right back to using. Passages has really no cure other than Chris P wanting you to read his book.
They isolate you in a beautiful surrounding, give you therapy a couple of times a day, serve you great food and let you go into the real world! I have fortunately
found success with good old AA.
Do not wsste your hard earned money at passages Malibu.
Contacty me if you wish for details.

Passagesmalibu.com customers & affiliates reviews, comments, possible complaints Hi Mitch,
I was considering Passages for my father, but have read some mixed reports. Can you please tell me more about your experience, before we spend all the money if it's not helpful?
Thank you,
AKT

Passagesmalibu.com customers & affiliates reviews, comments, possible complaints Hi Mitch, Appreciate your commments. I tend to agree with you and AA, but I have a 30 year old son who is on his way or if I am honest with myself, already an alcoholic. I will keep giving him my love and suggestions, all I can do. I know, I know let go and let God. Good luck to you in your journey to heal.

Passagesmalibu.com customers & affiliates reviews, comments, possible complaints AA works for the intellectually inferior. Though some of what Chris Prentiss believes is over the top, the fact of the matter is you are weak if you believe you are powerless, and if you truly believe this, you are destined to trade your drug addiction for caffeine, tobacco, and religion, like all the other AA cooks. They are simply dry drunks and there is nothing more to it. Grow up.

Passagesmalibu.com customers & affiliates reviews, comments, possible complaints Stephen, AA works and you can stop there. I as well as the members of my group - lawyers, nurses, teachers, CEOs are gaining our lives back. You apparently feel the need the degrade others that are able to face their fears, the wrongs they have done and better their lives. You sound like you may be a dry drunk or very bitter about something. I know I must surrender to this disease, which is powerlessness - however, that gives the strength and power to control so many other pieces of my life. I wish you help, healing & additional knowledge of a program that has worked for so many. Not judging others would perhaps help your maturity level and help you grow up.

Passagesmalibu.com customers & affiliates reviews, comments, possible complaints I've never been to Passages but it seems that they're trying their best with hypnosis, chemical imbalances and individual therapy. I have had great success with hypnosis in other areas (but not with addiction) and I hate group exercises. I have been sober for almost 30 years now and I'm grateful that someone from AA talked to me over the phone back then and convinced me to get help. At the time I lived in a country where "drying out" in a clinic is paid for by government health care. They obliged you to engage in AA group therapy but I hated it. I was embarrassed and mortified. Worse, everyone else seemed to have more serious problems than I did and I never knew what to say.
Some people think group therapy is terrific. What can I say except we're all different. I also feel that when you're "ready" (or your friend, spouse, parent, etc. is "ready") they will be motivated to do it their way and maybe not the way you want them to. No matter how you deal with addiction ~ and different folks want and need different approaches ~ the patient needs to strongly wish to be helped. In my opinion, motivation and attitude are extremely important. However, breaking addictions is easier for some people than for others so don't despair. We're all different. Quite a few people I met at the clinic returned SEVERAL times for the cure and a few thought it was useless. It worked for me. I knew other people who tried other methods ~ some succeeded and some did not. Keep trying.

Passagesmalibu.com customers & affiliates reviews, comments, possible complaints Prentiss may be certain, but his former medical director is having none of it: “Chris Prentiss is not qualified to be talking like that,” Dr. Hamlin Emory tells me by phone from his Beverly Hills office. “And no respectful physician would ever talk like that because you don’t say that you know the cause.
“I will tell you one thing about Chris Prentiss,” continues Dr. Emory, “he is the consummate Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey circus-barker showman.”
It didn’t take Emory long to reach the end of his rope with Prentiss. “I started [at Passages] from the beginning [in 2001]. I left in 2004, or late 2003. I resigned. I had to leave because he was interfering with my work. He would be giving these Chinese teas that had up to 127 different compounds, and I need to medicate or test people at base line.”
I tell Emory the story of the interview in The Timesof London in which Prentiss claims to have cured a man on the spot.
“He’s not Louis Pasteur! C’mon. He’s a marketer,” bellows Emory, almost spitting into the phone. “Now, I am embarrassed.” There is a brief pause as he gathers his thoughts. “It’s sad,” he continues. “The residential centers make lots and lots of money now preying on the ignorance of the medical profession’s inability to help these people
