Two programs I have used to help make submission easier are Web Position Gold and SitePromoter. I like Web Position Gold not so much for its submission feature but for its ability to tell me where I rank in the engines. But I like SitePromoter for the actual submission as it works like manual submission.

For reasons unknown to me, my own STAR SIGNS home page was listed for a whole month (in October 1997) by Infoseek at the No.1 position in a search for "astrology".
