YTB stands for Your Travel Biz. It is a 6 year old, publically traded travel company located in Edwardsville, IL. The CEO and Founder is Lloyd Tomer. The President is Scott Tomer. They were extremely successful in building a previous organization in A.L.Williams, later called Primerica. The goal of YTB is to become the largest on-line travel agency in the world by 2011 and they are on target, in large part because of the massive commissions the company pays as well as the integrity and committment of the company's owners.
YTB offers two opportunities, one paid and one for free. It sells Internet Travel Agencies, which permit buyers, called Referring Travel Agents (RTA's), to earn 60% of the travel agent's commission when someone books on their site. These Internet Travel Agencies cost $500 upfront and $50 per month to maintain and upgrade the site. The RTA also receives travel credentials (IATA) that entitle him to deeply discounted FAM or Familiarization trips, free upgrades and other amenities reserved for travel professionals, except in the state of California, where these credentials are subject to different rules.
YTB also offers an opportunity to sell the Internet Travel Agencies to people who want to make money passively from a home based Internet business. These sales people are called IMR's or Independent Marketing Reps. There is no charge to become an IMR, however most of them also become RTA's to earn the passive income from travel commissions generated by their sites and to receive the valuable IATA travel credential.
The commission plan is very lucrative and involved. I suggest you visit my site for a comprehensive exposition. Here are the highlights. The first 6 sales made by an IMR are his training sales and he is paid 1/2 the regular commission or $50 for each of the first 6 recruit, who constitute his First Team. However, the IMR is paid up to 50% of the commissions earned by those 6 recruits in his First Team for life.
Once the 6 training sales are made, the new IMR is paid $100 for each new sale he makes as well as up to 50% of all future commissions earned by those the IMR personally recruits in his Team as well. He earns $50 for every sale made by any member of his team, called his Power Team. For every 6 RTA's sold by the IMR and/or his Power Team, he earns a $1,000 cash bonus. Every time his Power Team makes 100 sales, the IMR is paid a cash bonus of $10,000. There are no time restrictions on when these sales can be made. There are other cash bonuses of $50,000/$100,000/$250,000 and $1,000,000, paid as the IMR's Power Team grows.
At 500 RTA's, the IMR is made a Director. The Director receives a minimum of $2,000 per month from the profits of the company, in addition to any other commissions. He also receives company paid benefits, such as health insurance and $100,000 in life insurance. The average Director, in Nov. 2006 made $28,000 per month.
There are currently hundreds of YTB IMR's earning $1,000 bonuses monthly and thousands earning 3 figures monthly.
