Make the headline of your ad sort or catchy to draw attention of searchers. At google you are very limited. The headline must not exceed 25 symbols, two more lines are limited to 35. Besides, as an affiliate you are obliged to point your affiliate status, that is to put "affiliate" in one of the lines.

To be effective, your headline needs to convey clearly and specifically how your product or service will benefit the reader or solve a pressing problem. If you're selling over the phone or in person, the equivalent of your headline is your introduction or greeting. Just as a headline grabs the attention of a reader, your opening statement grabs the attention of a prospect. A good way to get headline ideas is to: Skim through a magazine for article titles that grab your attention. You'll notice that certain words and combinations of words grab your attention. 3d RULE:
Put all the keywords in square brackets [keyword] or quotes "". This means that your ad is shown only when searchers type in this very phrase. You can a little bit broaden your matching options and put your keywords in quotes "kw"
Why am I writing about all this? This only concerns google rules, if you are bidding on other PPC's ignore this rule. When you use google Adwords, you must comply to their rules. Your CTR (click thru rate) should not be less than 0.5%. In other words, you should receive at least 1 click every 200 impressions. I recommend at least 1 click every 100 impressions. If you do not comply with this rule your ad will be slowed and disabled later. If you have a extra dollars to give away you may not worry. Every third time you restore your account you pay $5. I did restore my account one time for free. But I don't like the idea to do it again, this is why I'm telling you all this. Keywords in brackets are very targeted, keywords in quotes are less, but they give me sufficient CTR of 2% and more. You should stick to golden mean here. If you choose very targeted keywords you get much less impressions, if you choose keywords with broad match, you get much more impressions and more clicks correspondingly, but much less CTR. And your ads may be slowed. 4th RULE:
Do not bid more than $0.3 for click. Normally 0.15-0.2 would be enough. You don't have to have #1 position, all you have to do is to get on the first or second page. Number one position is a good one at all. It'll drain out your pocket in a split of a second. It attracts not only targeted prospects but both freebie seekers and tire kickers. Being at the end of the page or even on the second page will bring you highly targeted, interested visitors. And low clicks will be offset by high ROI (return on investment), that is the number of prospects converted into customers and your downline members.
5th RULE: When submitting your listing always put the price in your ads. You want everyone who clicks thru to you site to be prepared to break out their wallet. If you don't you'll get killed by freebie seekers.
6th RULE: ALWAYS CHECK YOUR REFERRAL LINK TO WORK PROPERLY! I've seen so many ads and pulling offers than didn't have a working link! If your link doesn't work, all you are doing is in vain!!!
7th RULE: At google Adwords remember to set up your daily budget. I'd recommend to make it $2-5 for the whole campaign. In Cashculture case you can set it as much as you like, because you won't be listed in first positions on widely searched keywords like affiliate program and business opportunity. Other more specific keywords are searched less often. Here our strategy comes into play. Remember: the more specific keywords you choose the better your position is and the less money you spend.
8th RULE:After you are done with google, go to other payperclick engines.
I highly recommend www.findwhat.com and do the same as you did with google with only one exception, you have much more space to move. You can add much more words to your ad, include the price and do not worry about you CTR.
Pay per click engines require some work at first but after you are done with them you can forget about them. This is a "set and forget it" technique. |
